  • On the 5th February 2026, MAAS Group (MGH AU) announced it was selling its construction materials division to Heidelberg Materials Australia for A$1.703bn. The ACCC signed off on the 31st July.

  • This morning (5th August), Wes Maas (founder & CEO) announced he had upped his stake to 50.62% from 49.4%.

  • Post sale to Heidelberg, how much, if any, will the market re-rate MAAS as an infrastructure/ “AI-enabler” rather than a contractor currently?

The Trade.

  • Metrics appear full from a historical context.

  • Upside pivots off the market pricing the residual electrical/data-centre-power business (and its power plant supporting these ops) on an infrastructure/AI-enabler multiple vs. a cyclical-contractor multiple.

  • I’d be getting some exposure here, and load up on weakness.
